Fitness Ball - Training Tips

Fitness Ball - Training Tips
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Wayne_Augustin]Wayne Augustin

The fitness ball, otherwise known as the exercise, physio or Swiss ball, is a large air-filled rubber or plastic ball used in fitness exercises, or rehabilitation programs. The ball is an inexpensive workout tool that can be used in various workout routines or low-impact exercises that target different parts of the body.

A fitness ball is an essential device in exercises as its unstable surface compels multiple muscle groups to work together to stabilize the body while performing the exercises, improving strength, balance and coordination. In this way using the ball helps develop the use of the core muscles.

The core muscles refer to your deep abdominal muscles, back extensor muscles, and your hip muscles. These muscles are all important since they support your lower back and provide a stable foundation for your body, and are considered to be vital in relation to stopping lower back pain.

There are a variety of ways that you can use a fitness ball. One way is to perform free weight exercises for your upper body while sitting or lying on the ball. This will require you to employ your abdominal muscles. Using the ball in this way, will not only strengthen the major muscle groups of your upper body as per the standard exercise, it will also train a variety of stabilizers that are not trained in the standard exercise.

You can use the fitness ball to perform a variety of weight free exercises. For example, you can perform push-ups with your hands or feet on the fitness ball. This is an effective exercise for your upper extremities as the unsteady surface of the ball forces the muscles of your arms, upper back, shoulder blade muscles, abdominals and lower back to increase their involvement.

You can also perform exercises like crunches on the fitness ball. Crunches are usually done on the floor, but when they are executed on the fitness ball, they become more difficult with a longer range of motion. This is because the fitness ball allows you to lay your upper back down on the ball and opens up the ribcage. This allows for a much longer range of motion and more focus your abdominal muscles.

Fitness balls can also be a valuable tool in nearly any exercise because they offer variation to your fitness exercises as well as making your body work harder. By exercising with the fitness ball, you have an opportunity to strengthen your core muscles and reduce your chance of injury.

They are the Life Fitness Elliptical X3, the Life Fitness Elliptical X3i, the Life Fitness Elliptical X5, the Life Fitness Elliptical X5i, the Life Fitness Elliptical x9i, and the Life Fitness Elliptical Sports Cardio SX30. These machines are at the higher end of ellipticals and the Life Fitness ellipticals are of the highest quality. The down side of the Life Fitness ellipticals is the warranties

All the other models mentioned above have the same warranty, lifetime on the frame, two years on the parts, and one year on the labor.

The Life Fitness ellipticals X3, and X3i, are at the lower end of the six models. They are built very durable and are under three thousand dollars. The X3i has four more programs than the X3 and is slightly better. The Life Fitness X5, and the Life Fitness X5i, have something called the Select Stride, which means that you can select from four different settings, sprint, run, jog, and walk. These ellipticals may last a lifetime, they are built that well. They are amoung the heaviest ellipticals made, so after they are
put together, don't plan on moving them often. The Life Fitness X9i has eighteen programs and seven personal programs. The quality is said to be that of a commercial gym machine. This is one of the absolute best elliptical that money can buy. These ellipticals are quiet and very stable units.

The last model, the Life Fitness Elliptical Sports Cardio SX30 is at the lowest end that the Life Firness company makes. It is an average elliptical trainer at best and so if you are considering this model you may also want to check out other competitive makes.

All things considered it's hard to top the quality and value of Life Fitness Ellipticals.

Riding The Vision Fitness Elliptical Trainer

Riding The Vision Fitness Elliptical Trainer
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Tim_Gorman]Tim Gorman

The Vision Fitness elliptical trainer comes in five models. Ranging from the low end to the higher end machine, the models are the Vision FitnessX6000 Folding, the Vision Fitness X6100 Folding, the Vision Fitness X6200 Folding, the Vision Fitness X6200HRT Folding, and the Vision Fitness X6600HRT Commercial Grade.

The lower end of the Vision Fitness ellipticals are more compact than the higher end and fold for storage. The handlebars move along with the pedals so that you can get an upper body workout. However this can be difficult and uncomfortable if you are a short person. You should try those machines in the store to see if they are a good fit for you.

All of the Vision Fitness ellipticals are made with the flywheel in the front, which is opposite from the ellipticals at the gym. This makes the motion somewhat different so it may take some getting used to. The brakes are mechanical on the lower end machines and tend to break more often, and need more attention. The higher end Vision Fitness ellipticals use an electro magnetic braking system which works better and is more reliable.

The front flywheel Vision Fitness ellipticals tend to wear out faster and get noisy after a while.

The Vision Fitness elliptical trainers come with a wide range of warranties depending on which one you buy. If you do decide on a Vision Fitness elliptical it is advisable to purchase one of their higher end machines.
